Paper Storage

Are you like me? Ending up with lots of wrapping paper after Christmas or birthdays? I have significantly cut that down a lot since my friends and I scrapped the idea of exchanging Christmas and birthday presents. But still, there are alot leftovers from over the years. I was planning to buy a container to store them all together but none were high enough unless I buy those umbrella holders.

But lo and behold, I suddenly remember I bought a pillow recently that comes in a box (which I haven't thrown away) so I am thinking I will cut out the top and part of one side as well so I can store the wrapping paper at the top in a neat row and for the side opening, I will slots in all those paper bags which I get from the shops or from . 2 in 1 usage, brilliant, no?

Guess pictures speak louder than words so I will get to it one of this weekends and show you all the end results.

Cap

Well, did you think I will recycle the bottle and throw away the cap? NOOOO...although the bottle is glass but the cap is actually plastic but I already know what I will want to do with this.

Can you envision it like me? I will remove the white plastic inside and I will just put in a tealight which is just the right size, I hope! (Have to try it first before telling you how successful) So the tealight base will then be in blue which is better than just a plain aluminium tealight on the table right?

Vase

Recently I have been using this skincare product and it came in a glass bottle form. To throw it away seems pretty wasteful so I decided to reuse it and make it into a vase since the blue color is so pretty.

However I had a hell of a time trying to remove the paint or whatsoever that was used on the bottle, I tried thinner, turpentine, acetone, alcohol but nothing seems to work till I used this sandpaper like foam. Only problem is it scratches away some of the color from the bottle as well. It went from the picture on the left to how it is today on the right.

But will use it for now and later if I wanted, I can either spray paint the bottle in another color OR I simply do some mod podging on it with paper or fabric.
